Hey loves! How are you enjoying the season? I'm having a fun time with my family. You dont know but i have a big family with 5 elder brothers and a younger sister and its only seasons like this that we all get to be in one place! You can imagine the fun :-) (our grand ma is tired of them because they are constantly making her dance lolz)
I'm currently in my home town in Anambra State and the only thing that isn't fun here is the harmattan. Its really angry and as it blows it dries up your wet clothes (it really doesn't like seeing your clothes wet, it gets harmattan really angry lolz) it dries up every thing that has moisture.....which includes my hair *sad face*
Though I've run out of most of my hair products i was prepared for it and i'm here to share what I've been doing to my hair and will continue doing during this season of harmattan.
1. Moisturising at night.
I needed real deep moisture and a bit of slip so i mixed up my moisturising concoction. I mixed up my Lustre S-curl moisturiser + a little mane n tail detangler + a small quantity of ORS replenishing conditioner. Dont judge me...lol
If you want to try out this mix with the products listed in the order above, the quantities are in a ratio of 5:1:1
2. GHE
The Green House Effect method of keeping your hair moisturised also doubles to help your hair grow. I have tried it some time ago and i got good result as per hair growth but i didnt like the dampness or wetness that my hair gets when i take off the shower cap or plastic bag. So this time I do the GHE at night after moisturising and sealing and in the morning i allow my hair to dry for some time before my next step.
3. Wigging it!
If you follow my blog you will remember that i laid off my wigs almost two years ago! I wrote on the blog that i will be styling and wearing just my hair. Well last year i was in Delta state for Christmas and the harmattan wasn't that strong. This year i couldn't help but grab a wig. Its been a life saver. It hides my hair really well from the dry harmattan wind. If you're still on the fence and don't know if you should wear a wig, probably because of what people will say, well dear...its your hair, slap on that wig! When your hair dries up and breaks the same people will tell you that you don't know what you are doing and that is why you are now suffering a setback.
Well ladies... That's all for now. I hope this post was helpful. Happy new year in Advance!
Great harmattan defense methods. lol. I've also started doing GHE overnight. And wigs have always been one of my fave protective style.

Lol I like what you said about the wigs, me too I just try my best to wig it with pride. I am going to start doing the ghe method as well. Excellent post as always!
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE, Love the short wig!! I used to worry about what was said when I wear wigs, shortly afterwards I stopped caring. Like you said, people will talk about you regardless. I LOVE the look of your natural hair as well. Happy New Year to you too!

ReplyDeleteI don't think wigs is permanent solution for hairs. If you treat hair loss problem at early age then you have chance to save your natural hairs.
